I have been dying my hair with henna for many years. Recently I have been trying different henna brands. I will give this brand 5 stars thus far (I dyed my hair last night). I have read a lot of the previous reviews and some people were disappointed. The instructions on the box should be rewritten. With henna you have to activate the henna for the dye to release. It’s not going to work if you apply the henna right away. In a big bowl add the henna then I added cooled black tea (made with distilled water), salt, and a squeeze of lemon to the henna, mix well after each ingredient, cover the bowl with plastic wrap. I let the henna sit 4 hours (the dye will release). In another bowl I added the indigo and some of the cooled black tea, mix well. You then add the indigo to the henna and mix well. Now the henna is ready to be applied to your hair. I applied the henna to my hair once done I wrapped my head with plastic wrap. I let the henna sit on my hair for 3 hours. Then you wash with water only no shampoo. After 3 days the color will enhance then you can use shampoo if you want to wash your hair.
