Great watch with solar movement and sapphire crystal. Got it for 11.6k with 40% discount and some credit card cash back. Light weight and small dimensions make perfect for people with small wrist size. Worth buying at discounted price.

A very good watch, and I managed to get it when the price dropped to 15,100 (plus some card discount).

Please make note of the differences in the variants of the model before buying it. The S570D has a black dial with silver case bezels, the S570DB has a dark blue dial with the same blue bezel, and the S570DC (this one) is the same as S570D but with a bronze ring around the dial and on a subdial, and has a 15% higher MRP. Other than the design variations, they’re functionally exactly the same.

Pros –
– Sapphire crystal, extremely scratch resistant, won’t need a protector
– Solar powered; rechargeable battery might have to be replaced once in 15 – 20 years
– A relatively clean minimalist design, when compared to most other Casio watches that usually have unnecessary subdials and tachymeter markings and excessive branding
– Very responsive push buttons and crown
– Luminance on the hour / minute hands, and on all 12 time indices.
– Great design with the octagonal shaped case bezel, and not too bulky, under 1 cm thickness.

Cons –
– The bracelet. Not a great build, hollow links, and lug width of about 12 mm. Which will make finding replacements quite difficult.
– The date complication is little too deep set and may be difficult to read.
– No “day” complication
– The seconds complication is set in a subdial on the left, and not with the hour and minute hands on the main dial, which makes it less convenient if you need to time the seconds (inconvenient in situations like measuring patient pulse)

The watch bracelet will need adjustment by removing a few links, even if you have big wrists. And be sure to register the watch on Casio site for an additional 6 months warranty. The site isn’t very clear with what the serial number of the watch is, but try the numbers printed on the back of the case.

In conclusion, although the watch has some let downs, I feel it is a fantastic looking and quite rugged watch that should see a very long life, and should deliver the accuracy and reliability that Casio is well known for. Everybody needs a Casio in their life. If I was to spend more than this, it would only be for an automatic winding watch. (Smart watches simply don’t have the same appeal IMO)
