If you’re a beginner or an intermediate at resistance training, this is a good start for you.
PROS: – Overall quality is above average. – The actual bands feel ‘safe’ and can be stretched to about 2.0 x the original length. (I’m 5’11” and they’re fine in case that helps) – The door anchor is actually very good. Make sure you check that you have gotten it hooked it really. – The handles are comfortable and strong at full extension – The change in resistance is quite smooth as you pull. I have come across sets where the resistance is not gradual. – Quite quiet! – A chart for beginner’s exercises is provided (yes, in English). I would suggest you find more extensive and detailed exercises online though. – The bag provided is more valuable than you would think. Really helps with keeping it all together and portability if you happen to go out of station for a while. – There are a lot, and I mean a lot, of exercises you can use them for. I watched a YT video where the trainer showed over 60 exercises! This is true for most resistance bands though
CONS: – The ankle bands are a little thin, and the velcro will probably last a couple of months before losing grip, but a lot of the exercises can be done without them. – The metal hooks are where my issue was. They do not feel too safe, although they haven’t broken for many months (according to a friend who has been using them daily for the past 4 months)
BOTTOM LINE: They are as good as what you’re paying for them, maybe a little better. If you’re starting out and want to see if resistance training is for you, they’re perfect. If you’re using them in tandem with actual weight training, they’re great.
You will not repent spending the money if you fall under the above categories.
SUGGESTIONS: – If you’re using them for intense training, I would pay a little more and get a better set. – Make sure you purchase full-hand workout gloves! All resistance bands are tough on the skin, especially if the material used is not made of finely combed wrapping.
