The packaging was not good. The oil spill into and out of the sealed can as there is no seal in the bottle cap.

Now lets come to the actual product quality. The oil smells foul, foams on the beard and doesn’t soften it much. I’ll apply it for a few more times to judge if it actually shows any of the effects that it promises. Overall I’ll advice everyone to skip this one as the exorbitant pricing doesn’t do it too much justice either.

Great product! For someone with dry skin, applying this twice (once in the morning and once in the late evening) keeps my beard hydrated and looking groomed at all times. You should definitely give this a shot once to see if this is the beard oil for you, reviews dont tell the whole story as everyone’s hair and skin are different and will react slightly differently to the oil.

Firstly if you are eyeing this product to help you grow a beard from nothing, let me tell you that it wont do any magic. The contents of this are for beard upkeep i.e. to help you manage your beard and to help your beard look better. And not to help you grow beard hair where none has grown before. 🙂

Secondly, please see the pic I attached for details on how the outer tin container and inner bottle look. To clarify more, the contents are not 30ml as depicted in photo on site. Its 35ml. And the contents are not 30gm as depicted in text on site. Its 35ml. Its liquid, not a solid product.
The word ‘Tonic’ is not mentioned on outer tin container, so do not get confused when you receive the shipment. The inner bottle (after opening the plastic seal) will be what you ordered, unless someone made a mistake in packing the contents. 🙂

I will be posting a more comprehensive review after using this for next 30 days. But till then the rating stays at 3 stars.

If you ask me right now, the 200/- price point seems high for a 35ml product. But this may change as i review the product in detail post usage.

    Update 11-Jan-2016:
Upgraded the rating to 4 stars. The Beard Tonic gets 1 star less because of only its pricing aspect. This is a crazy costly product for 35ml of it, especially since its only purpose is to help you flaunt your beard in a better way. If you are going to attend some special occasion (ahem!), you can use this. It brings the temporary shine to your mane and beard becomes more manageable for 2-3 hours. But like all elixirs, its effect wears off and all things get back to normal. 🙂 So like I said earlier, use it for those special occasions. Or if you have shizload of cash and want to spend it all on beard tonics, feel free. This is a great buy, nevertheless.
But I strongly believe ‘Happily Unmarried’ should also look into market capture and price it well so that it can kill the competition when it arrives. Cause looking at the no of people growing beards these days, arrive it will 🙂

Also, I really didnt get the logic of providing the outer tin container. I felt the inner container bottle is fully self sufficient in keeping the contents intact, even during transit in baggage. The inner container has a good quality cap which can keep the contents sealed. The outer tin container is a pain in the you-know-where. Apart from the cool looks (if tin containers look cool to you i.e.), it serves no purpose. Outer container doesnt have a seal cap in case of spill. So ‘Happily Unmarried’ should do away with it and save cost and transfer it to the user to make this product cheaper.

Even though a silicone based product will make your beard temporarily soft to feel and touch, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to help your beard in the long run. Silicone oil just covers your hairs and make it shiny and easy to manage but at the same time it has a major side affect i.e. to wash silicone out of the beard you need a harsh detergent based beard shampoo which has sulphates in it as silicone is water based and doesn’t get out of the beard easily.

I would suggest using products with more natural oils preferably the right combination of essentials oils like jojoba or argon oil etc.

I just applied it and Everything is OK, but tell me why does it smells like machine oil that my grandma used to put in her swing machine?
but the quantity is quite good as we compare it with other products, rest of the brands are offering only 10 to 15 ml. whereas USTRA is offering 35ml. (not to be confuse with mg [Milligram]).
it is good for using occasionally.

One more thing apart from product. Strangly Non of the founder has beard and mooch. 😀 neither the Tuli nor the Anand has.Bhai khud to kuch uga lo. or agar nahi aati to market se khareed k laga lo 😉 😀
