Didn’t see any improvement. I didn’t feel glow or smoothness on my skin as reviews are stating

I really love this product, but I definitely would call it a light facial oil instead of a serum. If you change your expectation this is a really lovely formula! I like to use it as the last step in my routine at night and so far it’s doing a good job locking in my skincare without causing milia. My skin is still hydrated and glowing when I wake up.

Good for my skin

I put this at night every alternate day and wake up with amazing bubbly skin
It’s very good for your skin
It lasts you very long since 2 drops are more than enough for you
It’s better for dry skin because the serum is a little heavy on the skin and feels a little oily
Don’t forget to use sunscreen if you apply it in the morning

I have a moderate oily skin and personally I prefer to have oily skin since it looks glossy and healthy. After using this serum I noticed that my skin was actually more glossy than it was before. I am 22 so i cannot say how effective it is since i already have a good skin but i can feel it’s really working. Also i’m kind of addicted to it like I don’t enjoy using vitamin C serum because of its texture but this retinol serum is actually fun to use and it makes your skin so soft as if it’s also hydrating or moisturising it. Go for it !

This product works. Anyone who decides to use Retinol should definitely do some research (I recommend the YouTube channel Doctorly) before using the product. I’ve seen some criticisms in the reviews here about breakouts and people finding the formula to be too oily. I’ll try and address both points here:
1. Your face will probably break out when you first start using Retinol. The product increases the cell turnover of your skin, leading to something called “purging”. Trust me, stick it out for at least a month or two, and you’ll see the benefits.
Of course, any redness or breakouts could also be a sign of a bad reaction to Retinol. You’ll know that’s the case of you see breakouts in parts of your face that normally don’t have acne. If that’s the case, just reduce the frequency of Retinol usage in the first months (once every two or three days should do) and sandwich the product between layers of a moisturiser.
2. The formula IS oil-based. It has to be for the active ingredient to be stable. I understand that it feels weird going to bed with your skin looking oily, but just trust the process. And if you really feel like it’s leaving your face feeling too greasy, reduce the amount of product that you’re using (5-7 drops is more than enough to cover the face and neck)
My only criticism about the product has to do with the packaging. It would be really good if Minimalist started putting seals on their boxes, so that the consumers can be assured that the product they’ve purchased hasn’t been tampered with.
